Services and Fees
The Landscape Design Package
This is what you need to get from vague ideas to actual drawings that you (or a contractor) will need to install your new landscape. To learn about this process--and your role in it--please see The Design Process.
Fees generally range from $1,200 to $2,500. Travel Fees may apply.
Our first meeting is free. At this, the "bid meeting," I assess your project and calculate the project fees, which I go over with you. I follow up this meeting with a detailed written bid.
Hourly Consultation
For the homeowner who has a tiny area that needs work, or just needs some bright ideas or a second opinion. I will come to your home, discuss your situation and options.
In some cases, I will write up a Consultation Report. The Report usually includes a list of options and/or decisions made, sketches, a suggested plant list, and other pertinent information.
Consulation Fee: $60/hour including travel time. Travel Fees may apply.
Installation Phase Assistance
If hiring contractors, services may include: bidding assistance, construction observation (on your behalf), or final walk-through assistance.
If doing it yourself, services may include: assistance in layout of the hardscape elements, help in selecting the plant specimens, or help with plant placement.

Travel Fees
The Car Usage Fee is calculated as follows at $.50 per mile (current IRS rate): Since travel is two-way, it works out to $1 per mile, one way. For example, if you are 12 miles from my office, the travel fee would be $12/trip. Car usage fees, if any, are included in your bid..
The Distance Fee for folks who live outside of the immediate area, a Distance Fee is assessed for the Bid Meeting only. Should you decide to work with Beth Young Garden Design, 50% of this fee will be deducted from your final invoice. The Fee is based on the travel time from downtown Corvallis to your home.
